Bach Flower Remedies

WHAT ARE Bach Flower Remedies?

In the 1920s and 1930s, a noted homeopath, physician and bacteriologist called Dr Edward Bach discovered a system of flower remedies that can help us rediscover the positive side of ourselves.

Dr Bach was a successful medical practitioner, but became disillusioned with conventional medicine and the way it focused on the illness rather than the patient

He believed the world of nature could provide significant healing properties and by the time he died in 1936, he had developed a complete system of 38 remedies, each prepared from natural sources such as extracts of wild plants, trees and bushes.

HOW DO Bach Flower Remedies WORK?

Each of the 38 individual Bach Flower remedies is unique and can be used to treat a particular negative mood or emotional state..

They work by treating an individual’s state of mind rather than the disease or its symptoms, for if the mind is healthy then you are less likely to become ill.

They can be taken individually or as a combination to make a personal treatment which will help you to find an emotional balance.

WHAT CAN Bach Flower Remedies TREAT?

The 38 flower remedies are categorised into seven different groups to treat:

  • Fear

  • Loneliness

  • Uncertainty

  • Lack of interest

  • Despondency and despair

  • Oversensitivity

  • Too much concern for others.

Bach flower remedies are particularly good for dealing with mental and emotional states such as loss, grief, bereavement, loneliness, despair, fear of being alone, shyness, anxiety, panic attacks, lack of confidence and low self-esteem.

Clients who use Bach Flower remedies report significant improvements in their mental attitude and outlook, including increased confidence, clarity of thought, peacefulness, energy, inner balance, motivation and zest for life.

They can be taken by everyone, including babies and small children – and even animals and plants!

 WHAT HAPPENS DURING A TREATMENT?

First of all, Susanne will talk to you to find out about the problems, concerns and fears that you may currently have in your life – and the underlying causes.

She can then prepare a remedy which may involve one Bach Flower essence or a combination of no more than seven. These are mixed with water and a little alcohol as a preservative in a glass dropper bottle with a rubber teat, which  makes it easy to dispense the amount of drops you need.

Susanne will advise you how many drops you need to take – and how often you need to take them
