Systematic Kinesiology (SK), Allergy Testing & Therapy

History of Systematic Kinesiology

Kinesiology comes from Greek 'kinesis' meaning motion, and is known as the study of movement. Kinesiology uses many of the concepts of Chinese Acupuncture to very good effect, without the use of needles. It has been used as a diagnostic tool since 1964 when Dr George Goodheart, and American chiropractor, discovered that he could determinate more about a patient's health by testing their muscles than by any other type of diagnosis. He developed a range of muscle tests that enabled him to assess the health of the whole body.

In 1976 Brian H. Butler pioneered the new concept of Applied Kinesiology in Great Britain and Europe. In 1988 Stephanie Mills created the professional organisation called the Association of Systematic Kinesiology.

What is involved?

The treatment involves applying gentle pressure to the muscles in order to find weak muscles and then uses special correcting techniques to balance the energies of the body, which flow in channels called meridians. Minor problems are corrected before they become more serious illnesses.

Allergy Testing

Kinesiology tests are particularly useful for pinpointing sensitivities to food ingredients and a wide range of natural and synthetic substances.
