Acupuncture
Originating from China, acupuncture is a healthcare therapy which has been developed and practiced for thousands of years.
Treatment involves the insertion of very fine needles at specific points throughout the body in order to unblock energy pathways.
According to Chinese philosophy, the individual experiences good physical, mental and emotional health when the energy in these pathways, known as 'meridians', can flow freely.
Disturbance to the meridians can come about during times of stress, illness, injury or emotional upset. Acupuncture is an effective way to aid recovery and maintain good health.
Acupuncture can work well alongside conventional medicine but is also a safe alternative. The World Health Organization recognizes that acupuncture can help treat, and prevent, a wide range of ailments and conditions.
