Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy Page:

Aromatherapy involves the use of concentrated essential oils extracted from a variety of plants for therapeutic purposes. Oils may be administered through inhalation, massage, baths and compresses.

Essential oils have the potential to provide both psychological and physical benefits when used correctly and safely with the guidance of a qualified practitioner.

Aromatherapy is both an art and a science based on the body’s reaction to the absorption and inhalation of the chemical compounds present in essential oils, which can have a profound influence on physiological and psychological health. It can be used both as a preventative and active method to employ during acute and chronic stages of illness.

Aromatherapy Massage

Aromatherapy massage involves both gentle pressure, accupressure and deep tissue massage techniques to promote wellbeing. It is a relaxing and enjoyable way of administering the oils to the body. Because the oils are providing much of the benefit, it can be used with gentle pressure over areas that may not normally be suitable for massage such as varicose veins, arthritic joints and injuries.

Aromatherapy products are also available for home use.

Our practitioner at the clinic is Bronwyn Ward ITEC(dip) MFHT
