Homeopathy
Homeopathy has been a part of medical practice since the time of the Greeks and was formulated in the 18th century, as we know it today, by German physician, Samuel Hahneman.
It works on the principle of 'like cures like'. In other words, a substance which causes particular symptoms in a healthy person will cure those same symptoms in an ill person - 'that which makes sick shall heal'.
An example of this is illustrated by symptoms caused when peeling an onion, such as a runny nose, stinging eyes and soreness of the throat. Similar symptoms are often seen in hay fever sufferers and the remedy 'Alluim Cepa', derived from the onion, is often prescribed.
Homeopathy is a safe and effective system of medicine treating physical, emotional and psychological complaints holistically. Homeopathy treats each individual on his or her own merit and is a positive way of taking greater charge of your own health and healing.
It is a good healthcare choice for the whole family as it can treat a wide variety of complaints non-intrusively. It is also hugely beneficial that remedies are non-addictive and do not cause side effects. Unlike conventional medicine, homeopathy is not tested on animals. Remedies derive from a variety of natural substances.
Homeopathy and children
This is a very safe and gentle form of medicine for children and babies as there is no risk of side effects.
Children generally respond very well to treatment for a wide variety of symptoms.
Remedies are given in an easy to swallow form which is usually taken happily by children and babies.
